WeGoLook + Guidewire

In an industry that is primed for partnership success, innovative insurance companies are increasingly finding ways to work together. This is why WeGoLook is excited to work with Guidewire as a PartnerConnect Solution Partner. Guidewire is a software provider to over 300 Property and Casualty (P&C) insurers who use its service to adapt and succeed in these rapidly changing times.

Guidewire’s software, which serves as a technology platform for P&C insurance carriers, consists of three elements: core transaction processing, data management and analytics, and digital engagement. Given its leading position as a provider of insurance software, Guidewire’s perspectives on trends in the P&C industry are leading insurers to continuously reinvent themselves to adapt and succeed in a rapidly-changing insurance marketplace.

Working Together

A few months ago, during the Guidewire Connections 2017 user conference held in Las Vegas, Nevada, Guidewire CEO Marcus Ryu commented about working with WeGoLook, stating:

“WeGoLook extends the insurers reach with 30,000 contractors who are trained in vehicle, property, and heavy equipment estimation; flowing that data and [those] images into the claims workflow. There are multiple companies that are collecting and analyzing data [like WeGoLook]. This is kind of a renaissance, and Guidewire’s clear role is to link these new data sources and flow them into the operations that are managed by our core systems. [WeGoLook] has joined Guidewire’s PartnerConnect program to build re-usable integrations with insurance carriers.”

The PartnerConnect program that Mr. Ryu mentions is a network of select partner companies providing consulting services and solutions to enhance, extend, and complement the capabilities of Guidewire products. Guidewire’s worldwide partner community helps contribute to the success of customers in the property and casualty insurance industry by delivering Guidewire software implementations, value-add solution and technology offerings, and guidance on insurance industry best practices. WeGoLook is very pleased to be one of the newest members of this exclusive community.

WeGoLook Presents at Guidewire Connections 2017

The Guidewire Connections conference, mentioned above, is an annual event where members of Guidewire’s growing community of customers and partners come together to learn, collaborate, network, and receive the latest information about Guidewire’s products. This past year, more than 2,000 members attended, and WeGoLook was very pleased to be a part.

WeGoLook’s COO, Kenneth Knoll, presented at the 2017 conference. Speaking to an enthusiastic crowd, Kenneth gave an overview of WeGoLook, the power of on-demand models in insurance, and how the combination of technology and people is driving the entire industry forward. You can watch Kenneth’s presentation from Guidewire Connections 2017 in the video below.

Other Conference Highlights

More than a third of people who come to Connections are from claims, billing and policy/underwriting departments. Another third come from IT, operations, and development. They range from CIOs to software developers. Attendees understand that mobile technology, agile methodologies, open platforms and social networking aren’t just Connections agenda items: These are the future of the insurance industry.

Setting the stage for the conference were Guidewire’s Chief Product Officer (CPO), Ali Kheirolomoom; Product Strategy Director for InsuranceSuite, Daniele Groves; Director of Product Management, Jason McDonald; and Vice President of Business Innovation, Laura Drabik. They each stressed the theme of continual re-invention by sharing Guidewire’s aspiration to provide an industry platform for P&C insurance, recapped the company’s progress over the last year, and shared plans for the future.

Four Guidewire customers also presented keynotes.

  • Kishore Ponnavolu, Executive Vice President for P&C at MetLife and President of MetLife Auto and Home, provided best practices and lessons learned from the initial rollout of MetLife Auto and Home’s MyDirect portal.

  • Phil Riley, Head of Business Customer Delivery at Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) New Zealand described ACC’s transformational journey and how the company was ensuring that its people, processes, technology, and information are aligned around the changing needs of its customers.

  • Jim Korcykoski, SVP, Chief Technology and Information Security Officer, Nationwide, discussed the challenges and implications of data and analytics driving the next phase of the insurance industry’s transformation.

  • On the final day of the conference, Motor Insurers’ Bureauicare, and Union Mutual Insurance participated in a customer panel discussion moderated by California Casualty, where they discussed their customers’ journey, and how they are adapting and succeeding with innovative projects.

Final Thoughts

After the event, Brian Desmond, Guidewire Software’s Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) concluded:

“Every year we are awed and inspired by the stories our customers share about how they are using the Guidewire Insurance Platform to increase speed to market, improve engagement with policyholders and agents and lower operating costs in a rapidly changing marketplace.
