It has been just over a week since Hurricane Harvey came ashore, and we are all still trying to come to terms with its aftermath. The loss of life and property is unfathomable, and here at WeGoLook we are heartbroken by the damage left behind by this storm.
At the same time, we are pleased to have the opportunity to contribute as recovery and restoration efforts get into full swing. As a young company, we are always learning and growing and Hurricane Harvey has taught us a lot about the strength of our employees, our Lookers, our parent company, and how the services we all offer can make a real impact in people’s lives. Today, we wanted to share with you a few of the ways WeGoLook is participating in the recovery effort.
First, we have been so encouraged to hear the stories of WeGoLook Lookers who are, of their own volition, reaching out to help friends, relatives, and neighbors in need. For example, we spoke last Friday with Jerome Williams, a Looker in the Houston area who had taken off work all week to deliver blankets, water… anything he could to help those who are hurting. We are so honored to be associated with thousands of Lookers in the area and to hear the stories of the impact they are making.
Second, we’re very proud of the early insights we have been able to provide businesses and individuals immediately following the storm to help them quickly assess damages and make critical decisions. Our Lookers were able to get drones in the air literally within one day to inspect businesses and even one hospital and provide insights on condition.
Third, we’re so pleased to be a part of a larger, global entity with a 75-year history in catastrophe response. Our parent company, Crawford and Company, is leading the charge and mobilizing enormous efforts to facilitate what is likely to be one of the most significant recovery efforts in US History.
